No plugins please help!

Can someone help me out? I bought my domain through WordPress – Had NO idea you couldn’t get plugins if you do that. I am trying to transfer to Domain, however it’s on wait for a month because I haven’t had my site for 60 days. I want to work on my site now and get plugins so I can have a good looking home page with a slide show image. Does anyone know how to get slide show image on the homepage without plugins OR how I can transfer it in the meantime while GoDaddy waits? Thank you!
