No Password Reset Email

  • I’m testing out my custom WordPress theme.

    When I try to send a password reset, it tells me that it’s been sent, however I receive no email.

    Do I need to configure something?

  • 1. Did you check in your spam or junk folder?
    2. Are you able to get an email when you register a new user?
    3. Do you know if you are using the built in mail function or are you using SMTP to send mail?
    4. Is this in a localhost install like WAMP or XAMP? You have to set up special mail systems in order for that to work.
    5. If this is on a hosted server, does your hosting company allow you the use of the php sendmail function?

    These are the first questions I would answer.
