No pages showing in the list of pages…

I’m hoping someone has an idea where to even start with an error I got. My ISP was trying to be “helpful” with something that was slowing down my site, and as a result they threw some sort of compression setting in CPANEL (now undone) and ran some internal optimization on my database tables (yikes!), and now my site is throwing problems in multiple places.

For Nested Pages, I went in to add a page tonight and the list is EMPTY. No pages at all shown, despite my having close to 200. They show up properly in default pages, but NOTHING at all in the nested pages view. I tried resetting the preferences thinking it would reset everything, nope. Nada. I noticed that in POST TYPES it only lists POSTS, there isn’t an option separate to also include PAGES, but I know if there should be. I even tried adding a new page to see if it would show up, nope. That view is just plain empty.

Any thoughts welcome…
