• Greetings,

I’m working working on a site and I’ve attempted to add a page template using the information found here. But, regardless of how many templates I add, I never get the drop-down menu when editing a page allowing me to select the template.

The odd part is that I’ve used the template I’m trying to add on other WordPress installs at this version so I turned to the plugins I have at this site and disabled them one-at-a-time to see if any of them had messed with the ability to choose a page template and that didn’t change anything. I even disabled all of them and that didn’t work either. Finally, in desperation, I simply reinstalled WordPress and that didn’t even do it!

    Anyone else got any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Dash

  • Have you tried adding your custom template to the default theme to see if it works in that theme?

No, I haven’t done that. I’ll have to check with the site owners before I start messing with the appearance of the site. Oddly, if I use the Quick Edit capabilities, the template shows up and is completely usable, but not if I do use the full Edit window.
