no Page created or no htaccess created?

  • I’ve just installed word press 2.0.3 and no htaccess was created (that I can see and yet my FTP program does show my htaccess on other wordpress blogs I have).

    I’ve been trying to find it because even though I was able to create permalinks I am not able to create a PAGE. I have a page.php , I can create a page in admin and it names it per permalinks but that page does not appear on my server and the link to the page on my blog goes to 404.

    What am I doing wrong? thanks!

    I created my own htaccess and now it’s working, so thanks.

    Say your Blog is located at youdomain.com/blog. To write a default .htaccess file, the /blog should have writeable permissions. Else you can create your own manually. As you did.
