No order is sent after paying via Express Checkout

    Hello,

    we recognized an error in our shop. If some puts a product into the basket and then pays via Paypal Express Checkout nor order is sent to WooCommerce. The customer must click “Order” in the checkout again and the order is connected to the payment. But he can edit the order before sending the order, and then there is a difference between the order in Paypal and in the WC order?

    I don’t know if this is an error or we did something wrong.

    Do you have an idea?

  • Hi Dirk,

    By default, the order created via the PayPal Checkout plugin is not created until the ‘Place Order’ button has been clicked by the customer. The preemptive PayPal pop-up is what starts the process of the order, but (like the ‘Checkout/Pay Now’ button) the ‘Place Order’ button is what starts the order creation.

    I’ve just run a few tests and found that when changing the shipping option (difference in cost) on the page displaying the ‘Place Order’ button (after the PayPal pop-up), the correct amount is passed to PayPal.

    Do you happen to have any unique components to your checkout flow? Or possibly a theme or plugin that may be hooking into the checkout process?
