No option to select NextGen image as Featured Image

@ldekay – As @tizz noted, we definitely could use more details but something to look at right away would be if this happens if you temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme (or one of the other themes where you see this option) and check if it becomes available.

Sorry to be incomplete with my problem description. The problem occurs ONLY with existing posts on the site, not a problem when I create a new post. The content for this new development site https://new.mtadamschamber.com was imported from our current production site https://mtadamschamber.com.

– WordPress up to date? Yes- WP 4.0
– NextGEN up to date? Yes – 2.0.66.29
– What version of NextGEN Gallery did you upgrade from? (i.e. I had 1.9.13, then upgraded to 2.0.61) – Irrelevant, hasn’t worked on this site since content was imported to https://new.mtadamschamber.com from https://mtadamschamber.com

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
– MySQL up to date (at least 5.0)? Yes, 5.5.37-35.1
– PHP up to date (at least 5.2.4)? Yes, 3.5.8.2
– The mod_rewrite Apache module activated? Yes
– PHP Safe Mode OFF? Not sure how to check this, but probably Off

– Who are you hosted with? JustHost
– What theme are you running? Weaver II Pro
– Which plugins do you have installed and activated? Akismet, All-in-One Event Calendar by Time.ly, All-in-One Event Calendar Extended Views by Time.ly, All in one Favicon, Bootstrap CDN, Dbox Slider Lite, Easy Columns, GTmetrix for WordPress, Imsanity, InfiniteWP – Client, Jetpack by WordPress.com, KVTinyMCE Editor Add Fonts, MapPress Easy Google Maps, NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati, Ninja Forms, Post Expirator, PulseMaps, Quick Cache, Safer Email Link, Simple Links, Site Creator Ultimate, Swiftype Search, TinyMCE Advanced, Weaver II Theme Extras, WordPress SEO, WP UI

– Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to a WordPress Twenty series theme and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (please be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating) Yes… changed theme, disabled all plugins except NextGen, cleared cache

@ldekay – Have you tried the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options? This generally sorts out “migration” related issues like this one appears to be.

You may need to clear your caches (including all site caches external to the site such as any CDN services) under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous again afterward.

Just tried Reset, still no NextGen option in the Featured Image widget. I can set NextGen image as Featured Image through the Add Media button so I’m not going to worry about this anymore.

@ldekay – Glad to read you have a work-around but your phrase “Featured Image widget” does beg the question if you are referring to the panel in the Post/Page editor screens (usually found in the bottom right) or if you are referring to something else?

Does that panel appear at all with the site in question (with or without NextGEN Gallery active)?
