• This plugin just removes the Google Fonts entirely!
On the one hand your website is GDPR compliant, but your webpage renders in a default font. Looks ugly.

No option to self-host the fonts.
There are even no settings at all. It just removes it. That’s it.

Perfect, if you are looking for something like this, but I assume most of us want beautiful websites.

What it is definitely: a quick fix, if you need to get rid of Google Fonts asap and take your time to work on another solution…

    Hi @bedengler,

Thanks for the review, but I must admit I find it harsh to downrate a plugin based on a feature that is not promised or even mentioned in the description.

The stated goal of this plugin is to “Improve frontend performance by disabling Google Fonts loaded by themes and plugins.” as stated in the description and it does that perfectly.

    Thanks for your reply @dannycooper,

first of all: I appreciate, that you took the time to create the plugin and contribute to the community.
And I’d like to elaborate on my decision.
A review doesn’t measure how the promises comply to the product only, but also the features. So if I’d would measure the features only, it’s even 1 star only.

I was expecting to get some settings, and more functionality etc.

Because just removing the Google Fonts doesn’t make any sense to me.
    1) Either you don’t use them and use your own fonts. In this case you don’t need the plugin.
    2) Or you use Google Fonts and after activating the plugin your website looks ugly.

Both cases don’t make sense to me.

So it’s an emergency solution imo.
But it’s NOT advertised as that. Therefore 3 stars felt appropriate to me…

If you’d make it clear, that this plugin just removes the fonts, NOTHING ELSE (and there are no settings – which could also be a USP), I’d have known what I can expect (and I wouldn’t have tried the plugin).

I hope you understand it now better
Take this as a motivation to improve and enhance the plugin OR to change the description ??
    Cheers
    Bernie
