    Hello,

I can’t seem to find the ‘Featured Posts’ option in the Theme Options. Do I need a plugin to add this in, or has the feature been removed?

I also have a child theme running, and I was wondering if that disables the featured post option?

    Hi there,

Nope, a child theme shouldn’t deactivate the featured posts option in the Customizer. Perhaps something in your child theme is preventing it from showing though. If you switch back to the parent theme, are you able to see the featured post option?

No, the parent theme doesn’t give me a featured post option either.

Would the option not show if I don’t have any posts (I only have pages set up right now)? I’m going to publish a post and see if that brings it up.

Success! My fault. I had categories and drafts set up, but hadn’t published anything. My apologies for wasting your time.

No worries! I was just going to reply and say that yes, you need to have a category available for the dropdown to display. Glad it worked out!

Great themes, by the way. I got your theme pass and am already using Pocket, Publisher and Editor. I love them all.

I wondering how to add the pushpin to the small icons that appear in the upper left corner. It looks like this changes the left panel to show featured posts, but how do you turn that on?

    Hi Darren,

Under Appearance > Customize > Theme Options in your WordPress dashboard there is an option called Sidebar Featured Post Category. If you set a category here and publish some posts in that category, it will enable that pushpin icon and show the featured posts there.
