I’m testing the Easy Mailchimp plugin in localhost. If I use an email account @outlook.com I don’t get any opt-in confirmation email, while if I use @gmail.com, @aol.com or @hotmail.com it works fine.
After I click the sign up button the success message displays, but I don’t get any email. I checked the spam folder too, but it is empty.
I disabled SSL verification to let the plugin work in localhost and I have all the versions updated (WordPress v 4.4.2, Easy Mailchimp plugin v 6.0.4.2).

    I hope you can help.

    Hi,

If your on localhost, you need to enable some sort of mail server. Our plugin works on a live server because they have a mail client setup for outgoing email.

If you reset your password are you getting emails? You’ll want to search around Google a bit for how to enable emails on local host. Or use a plugin to send emails via SMTP until you transfer to a live site.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Evan,

thank you for your reply, but I already enabled email in localhost following the instruction at the bottom of this page https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/i-receive-the-error-ssl-certificate-problem-unable-to-get-local-issuer-certificate-why/ (I disabled SSL verification). If I sign up with a @gmail.com, aol.com or @hotmail.com account I get the opt-in confirmation email; the issue is just when I sign up with an outlook.com email.
I resetted the password of my outlook.com email account but I didn’t get any email. Do I have to repeat the sign up after resetting the outlook password?

Could the outlook.com issue be related just to the localhost?

    Thanks,

    Chiara

    Hi Chiara,

The plugin shouldn’t have any issues with Outlook. If the emails are working in other email clients, they should be working with Outlook as well.

The emails are coming from MailChimp after receiving a request to send the email from our plugin. I’m not entirely sure why you wouldn’t be receiving the emails to your Outlook account. I don’t have one to test with and confirm.

If all else fails you may want to reach out to MailChimp, or test with the standard embed code they provide to ensure things are actually working with your Outlook account.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Chiara,

Since the double opt-in emails are being sent from MailChimp and not our plugin, I’m going to close this ticket.

If we can help you any further feel free to reopen it.

    Thank you!
