No older entries button

Hi,

I’ve run into a problem recently, which a reader of my blog pointed out. When there are more entries for a month (or any archive period) than WordPress is set to show on a page, there doesn’t seem to be a way to get to the older entries other than manually entering the address. There is, for example, no “old entries” or “more entries” button.

Is there a way to fix this?

(If it matters, I’m on 2.1 and using Very Plain Text as my theme.)
