Do you have any other Plugins that interact with WordPress email notifications?

email alerts works ok and I am now using subscribe 2 succesfully

What Plugin is “Subscribe 2”, specifically? And what other Plugins do you have active?

    Thread Starter raynbo

    (@raynbo)

subscribe 2 notifies subscribed users each time a new post is made.
It is active now but when I tried your plugin no other notification plugins were running.

I meant, what is the name of “Subscribe 2”, exactly? I couldn’t find “Subscribe 2” in the directory.

Also: what all Plugins do you have active, not just ones that potentially modify email notifications?

Oh, and what Theme are you using?

    Thread Starter raynbo

    (@raynbo)

    it is named Subscribe2

And for the comments for which no notifications were sent: were those comments approved, or moderated?

    Thread Starter raynbo

    (@raynbo)

    all approved

Hmm, okay. I don’t see any Plugins that *should* interfere with the Pluggable functions used in the Plugin.

Do you have a live link where we can test?

Hello. Hopefully you won’t mind if I jump into the silence and offer a live test ??

    Here’s my setup:
    Virgin install of WordPress 3.5.1
No plugins except for cbnet Multi Author Comment Notification 2.2.1
    Twenty Eleven theme 1.5
Only users are the admin and 2 Authors
Everything else is default except for Discussions page:
    unchecked:
    E-mail me whenever:
    [ ] Anyone posts a comment
[ ] A comment is held for moderation

    checked:
[x] Send comment notification emails to all Authors
Additional Emails defaults to Array (default value after install)
[x] Send notification emails for comments from registered users
[x] Send notification emails for comments held for Moderation

My understanding of the plugin is that with these settings, any comments on the post (Hello World) should email all Authors whether the comment author has previously approved comments or not. I’ve tested by commenting from the admin user and as an anonymous visitor. No email is sent unless I check those two boxes to send email notifications to the blog owner… which I don’t want.

I also tested using the User – Edit – setting
Comment Email Notification [x] Receive email notification of comments to all posts, regardless of post author
But again, no emails were sent to either of the two users selected in this manner.

I have sent WordPress location/user/pass details via your websites’ contact form.

    @james.holt:

The general posting etiquette in the WPORG support forums is for all users to post separate topics, even for potentially related issues.

If you need further clarification beyond this post, please do post a new topic, and I’ll help you there.

In your case, the issue is this:

    unchecked:
    E-mail me whenever:
    [ ] Anyone posts a comment
[ ] A comment is held for moderation

You’ve told WordPress not to send notification emails. This Plugin simply extends what WordPress does when it sends those emails. So, if you’ve told WordPress not to send notification emails, then this Plugin likewise won’t be invoked.

So, simply re-enable/check the above options, and everything should work fine.

My apologies for any perceived breach of etiquette. My goal was merely to assist in what I saw as a potentially related if not duplicate situation. Since the clarification you gave is not in the provided readme, your FAQ nor mentioned in the www.remarpro.com installation instructions, it was not understood.

Thank you for your quick response. Another will not be necessary for my sake and I wish the OP luck in their resolution.

I’ll be sure to add that to the readme. Thanks for the suggestion!
