No "next page" pr "previous page" links at bottom of home page; tried fixing!

    For some reason, the “previous page” and “next page” links aren’t showing up at the bottom of my posts on my home page, but they show up at the bottom of my menu pages. I have tried fixing it myself using WordPress Codex, but no matter what I try, they will not show up. I’ve also tried limiting the number of posts in Settings –> Reading to 1, to see if this had any effect, and it did not.
