No more notification mails

  • I’m running WP 2.6.2 on Windows Server 2003.
    Everthing was ok, but then WP stopped to send mails (when a new comment arives, when you forgot your password etc).

    How to solve the problem?
    Which mail method is the best (php, sendmail, smtp)?
    Is there a possibility to choose one of the methods somewhere in the php-files?
