No 'more' link and distorted images

  • I tried doing someone a favour by updating WordPress and all their plugins. Previously, they were using v2 of WP Featured Content Slider.

    There use to be a ‘More’ link to click at the end of the text but this doesn’t appear now I’ve updated the plugin. Can I recover this?

    Also, some of the images appear distorted. Any ideas how I can remedy?

    If all else fails, will it be safe to upload v2 of the Plugin even though WordPress is now 3.5?
