    I received the following message within wordpress after noticing that emails are not being sent:

    EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.3.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

    Mailer: Gmail
    {
    “error”: “invalid_grant”,
    “error_description”: “Bad Request”
    }
    Please re-grant Google app permissions!
    Go to WP Mail SMTP plugin settings page. Click the “Remove Connection” button.
    Then click the “Allow plugin to send emails using your Google account” button and re-enable access.
    Consider running an email test after fixing it.

    After carefully following the long-winded steps in the Gmail documentation you provided and disconnecting and reconnecting my gmail account, the error message message has disappeared, however no emails are being sent..

  • Hi @addredford,

    Thanks for reaching out. The invalid grant error means that Google App access was revoked. This happens for many reasons usually when you change your account password or enable two-factor authentication within your Google account. Now that you’ve connected your Google account, could you please share the error you’re getting by sending the test email from WP Mail SMTP > Email Test?

    Thanks!

    Sorry for the delayed response! And thank you for answering ??

    It’s actually coming back with: Test HTML email was sent successfully! Please check your inbox to make sure it is delivered. however I’m not getting anything in my inbox or spam folder (my personal gmail account). Most intriguing!

    Hi @addredford,

    Thanks for the details. If you’re using Gmail mailer, the emails are sent successfully and you’re still having issues with delivery, the emails are possibly filtered based on your domain. You might need to fix/setup DNS records on your domain. Could you please try sending test email in plain text format and let me know how it goes?

    Thanks!
