    Hello,

Everything was working fine until recently emails stopped being sent. I cannot confirm but it appears to correlate with the recent WordPress update?

I followed the troubleshooting steps by confirming WordPress emails are being sent and created a new forum and used 2 admin accounts to verify that emails are not being sent. I even disabled the bbpnns plugin and subscribed the traditional way and was able to receive notification emails through that subscription.

Any news or other reports of this functionality breaking recently? Thanks!

    Hi @baccomusic,

Thanks for reaching out. There have been no reports of broken functionality. Can you install the WP Email Log plugin to see if the messages are being caught there?

Also, what settings do you have enabled?

    Cheers,
    Vinny

Hi Vinny, thanks for the quick support!

I installed the log plugin and verified that emails are showing up there! But somehow they still aren’t making it to my inbox or spam folder or anywhere.

I ran the other test where I disabled bbpnns plugin and used the traditional subscription flow and did find that emails in this case are being sent to [email protected] whereas when I use bbpnns to handle the notifications emails are sent directly to my registered gmail. This makes sense, but I’m wondering if this difference is showing a potential issue when trying to send a direct email out?

Regarding my settings, here are all the check boxes I have engaged: Override subscription to forums, topic recipient roles Administrator, force admin only emails if hidden, and I have the same checks on the reply section.

I also tested with and without encode subject line in utf-8 just in case there were some weird characters that were somehow triggering a spam detector along the way.

Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Bacco,

If they’re showing up in the WP Mail Log list, then whatever the issue is after bbpnns has called wp_mail(). Do you have any SMTP plugin set up? Or are you using your hosts native mailing functionality? You’ll need to contact whoever your using to send out your emails.

    Cheers,
    Vinny

Hey Vinny, thanks again for the support, I can tell now that the problem lies after bbpnns so I’ll contact my hosting service to continue finding a solution!

    Best,
