hi there, love this plugin, just started using it like 2 weeks ago, it worked perfect!

however it’s no longer sending an email to me, I see the files in the dropbox, and it says successful inside the plugin, but no email. email box is still checked in settings, I tried unchecking and checking again.

    thanks!

    Hi,

Please post the log file – use pastebin.com to post it, and then post the resulting link here. Then I can read it and see what is happening.

    Best wishes,

    Hi,

The log shows an email being sent from UD, and the webserver saying it was passed on successfully:

1459.435 (0) Sending email (‘Files and database (Full backup)’) report (attachments: 0, size: 0 Kb) to: la@la..

If it didn’t arrive, then you’ll have to ask GoDaddy what happened to it after that – all that can be said from this end is that their webserver reported it as having been received by whatever they have set up to receive them; only they can say what happened to it next.

    Best wishes,
    David

I just installed and ran my first backup and at the end it states:

Sending email (‘Files and database (Full backup)’) report (attachments: 0, size: 0 Kb) to: Richa…

    It never arrived?

It says “attachments: 0, size: 0 Kb” a zero size file?

Should I at least get a short text email stating the backup was performed successfully? I thing the above o size message is because I said not to email be the backup. Even though I asked it not to email me the backup file, should I not get a status email?

    Thanks,
    Rich

OK Problem solved… and YES you are suppose to get an email with status even if you say not to send you the file…

I installed the plugin “Postman SMTP” and after successfully setting up and testing the conenction IT WORKED!

Being an Intranet site, I had to eventually “manually” set up the email as we do not require authentication and it seemed that their wizard insisted on requiring it.

    Rich

@rjbur, the Postman Wizard will insist on authentication if it detects it on the SMTP server. The only situation I can think of it not detecting settings correctly is if you use a non-standard port.

Actually Postman SMTP has a Manula Config option right below the very insistent Wizard. You are correct if you use the Wizard it does insist on authentication, but the manual Config gets around this.

i see. what i meant was if the server insists on authentication, then Postman will turn around and insist on authentication ??

as we do not require authentication

If the server had authentication turned off, postman would definitely not ask you to use it.

    ??

cheers! and thanks for using Postman

Wow seem to have an issue typing on my iPad.

    My settings are something like:

    mailhub.my.company.com
    Port 25
    No username or password

The wizard must have been sensing something strange as we never require authentication on our Intranet SMTP mail hub. As a matter of fact, it refuses to send mail if I try nod give it a username and password.

Well anyway, it’s working great now.

    Thanks!
