I just discovered I can no long save changes to my table. I got a message:

“Saving failed: AJAX call successful, internal saving process failed. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.”

Holding Shift key while saving did not help either.

In addition, I cannot sort the table or move a row into another position in the table.

    Please help.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

This indicates some problem with the database. If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

I am also having trouble with this. I spoke to my host and they suggest that it may have something to do with cgi timeout issues. I am not sure because the problems just started today. Any hints? Thank you Tobias. What a wonderful plugin.
Edit: I should mention that I just upgraded yesterday to the latest version of WP.
Additionally, I can sometimes create a new table no problem and save it but when it comes to modifications is where I see the error occur.

Hello Tobias. I too just sent you an email.
I just downgraded to 5.6 but the problem persists. I reupgraded to 5.7. Same issue.

    Hi,

just a quick update for everybody following this thread:

For erikrobles, it turned out that the issue seems to have been some temporary server glitch. Everything seems to be working fine again.

For francoc30, the mentioned sorting/moving of rows issue is caused by using an outdated version of the jQuery JS library (via the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin). We are still working on reproducing and finding the cause for the save problem.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,
Thanks you so much for the prompt response and investigation. Very good support indeed.
I confirm that after switching to the most current jQuery version, all TablePress functions are back (moving rows, sorting and saving modifications).
The switch also resolves my other issue with another plugin.
Thanks Tobias. Your support is much appreciated.
