    Hi,

After the latest updates (two recent), there is no loader indicating that something is loading after the payment has been made. This is kind of bad for the normal customer as they start clicking away from the page.

Is there going to be a fix for this or do we have to build this? And of course any ideas how to achieve this?

    Hi there,

There should still be a loading icon when the Place Order button is pressed. It’s possible that your theme is interfering with the process. Do you see the loading icon when testing with Twenty Seventeen or Storefront themes?

    Hi,

Thanks for your answer, I agree with you. Yes there is loader when you press the place order button. But there is no loader present after you have confirmed payment in the stripe modal window. You are coming back to the page and no indicator for the customer that it is processing the final part of the order.

    Thanks.

Correct, pressing the button on the Stripe popup is confirmation of the payment and the order is placed at that part. There is no need to return to the Pay Now page to press another button just to pay the order.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I Want to point out that after the stripe modal window closes Woocommerce starts redirecting to the order confirmation page and also will empty the cart properly. There is nowhere indicator that there is something processing after the stripe window is closed. And yes the order is not processed to the final end after the stripe window is closed.

    Hi @ilardo75

After the customer enters their details in the Stripe popup, this is them finalizing the order and paying for it – this matches the page name “Pay for Order”.

Can I ask what you are expecting for that part of the process? Your customer has already entered their details, then chosen the Continue To Payment button, this goes to the “Pay for Order” page and they then check the box and click to open the Stripe modal to enter their payment details. This completes the purchase process.

If you don’t feel this flow is suitable for your customers, I recommend turning off the Stripe Checkout option and using the standard payment card fields which are secured by Stripe as part of their Stripe Elements. Everything is kept on one page and this process would a better experience for customers.

The experience you are describing is the correct behaviour of the extension, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
Alternatively, you can open a ticket via WooCommerce.com > My Account.

Hi, After the customer has entered card details and stripe window has closed. Woocommerce starts to redirect to the order confirmation page. I am just thinking that there should be some indicator that something is happening. Because the last order confirmation page is automaticly loading for some time and landing there without no indication.

I am expecting that the customer should be notified that there is something still happening. Nothing else.

    thanks.

    Hi,

Just to let you know that this is how your plugin was working with woocommerce before the new validation methods. After the stripe window closed it gave a loader indicating that something is happening and after that it redirected to the very same order confirmation page as it is now redirecting. So there is not anything new i am talking or anything i think you are just missing loader as the customers are confused after the stripe window is closed some of them even clicking away before the end up in order confirmation page.

I hope you would even consider thinking about this. If you do not still understand what i am talking about i can explain this in more detail. Just let me know if you need more details.

Yes i agree that this is how your plugin is working, but i am just saying that you could make your plugin better?

    Thanks

    Hey @illardo75

Right, I know what you mean. Before, there was an “indicator” in that the modal was closing and the customer was going back to the main checkout page. Nothing really happened there and there was no validation done before loading the modal.

This is what we’ve now changed so there isn’t a need for an indicator after clicking the popup in 4.1.x – that is the final part of the checkout process.

If the page load is slow from clicking in the modal popup to the confirmation screen appearing, this is external of Stripe and could be related to something wider in your store about load times.

If it’s possible for us to improve this then we will but a better experience for your customers would be to uncheck the Checkout box and use only the core checkout fields with Stripe.

    Thanks,
