    Hi,

if a visitor, who for example has sent some data through WPCF7 and wishes afterwards to delete data using Privacy Tools, he/she doesn’t receive email with link to Privacy Tools, to show all his/her data.

Instead email arrives with the following text:
    ————
Someone has requested information about your personal data on XXXX
None of your personal data is stored on XXXX

If this was a mistake or you did not request this email, just ignore it and nothing will happen.
    ————

It is OK with registered users.

Unregistered users in WordPress cannot delete their data.

  • I am having the same issue. Has anyone found a solution yet?

    Thanks

    Hi there!

Contact Form 7 doesn’t store any data by default. What exactly would you expect to be deleted?

I store data via Flamingo but the framework doesn’t recognize the data.

    Yes it is funny :-).

But what than WPCF7 support from this plugin actually does?

    I thought something like this:
    https://codelight.eu/wordpress-gdpr-framework/guide/making-your-forms-compliant/

But for a visitor, for example if he used Contact form,.. he expects to be able to retrieve and delete this data. Because he has provided them.

Sorry i’m little confused here, maybe I just don’t understand everything through.

Maybe at least to empty table gdpr_consent with his emails, or at least change consent (status).

80% of emails received are from visitors… I made auto registration with CF7 add-on, but I don’t know if it ok like this.
    Thank you!

Yes, I feel the same as @rok-balboa. When a visitor fills in a form using CF7 and submits it, that visitors information is going to be retained in the inbox of whatever email address has been configured in “To” field in CF7. Obviously the wordpress plugin is not going to be able to know about this stored information.

Also, the other issue is that when the visitor consents to use the form, a record is created in the gdpr_consent table which includes the visitors email address and their IP address.

So when the visitor is told that none of their personal information is stored on X it is misleading.

    Thanks for your help!

    @aliblack89, yes exactly like that.

This plugin should obviously be able to store all submissions from all forms, so users could retrieve and delete them afterwards, including their consents.

Also when as registered user I delete all my data,… the profile is deleted fine.. but all data in gdpr_consent table stays, intact… that is email, consent and status.

It is ironic, that the plugin should store all form submitted data, so users could delete them later ??

But storing data actually is not necessary, it is OK like it is already… the main problem is actually the consent, which is now not changed anyhow when deleting data,.. if you are registered user or just a visitor.

Deleting / removing consent should probably work like this that actually deletes all data including data in table gdpr_consent (that is the whole reason of all this right?) and administrator of website receives an email about consent removal an data deletion. So he can process further and eliminate data elsewhere where used.

This GDPR for sure is complicated.

    @indrek_k must now better.

A visitor or registered user cannot withdraw consent. For CF7 forms.

    Nothing like this shows:
    https://codelight.eu/wordpress-gdpr-framework/app/uploads/2018/02/consents.png

    Only:
To use this website, you accepted our Privacy Policy. If you wish to withdraw your acceptance, please use the “Delete my data” button below.

    Hey guys,

There is a bug with CF7 consents. It will be fixed in the next release, I’m hoping to release the update over the weekend. Sorry about that!
For just CF7, the only thing we can support is tracking consents given via CF7 forms. The plugin won’t store any data. You can use CF7 Flamingo for that. CF7 Flamingo support is unfortunately delayed, but still planned before May 25th.

As for consents, ideally we should log each action taken by the user regarding their consents and NOT delete that log upon a deletion request. However, this is a feature for the next bigger release.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

    Hey @indrek_k

That would be brilliant if you got that release out this weekend.

That does make complete sense with regards to not deleting the logs – thanks for this explanation.

The plugin is great and thank you for your quick responses.

    Yes great!

Sorry for the delay – bug fixed now with v1.0.6

    Thanks, @indrek_k
