No Lightbox Plugins Work

    I am running the current WP on Apache/Linux and using the wcute theme. I have also been using the Fotobook pluing to pull my FB albums and had one or more of the Lightbox plugins installed and working fine. I dont recall which ones now since they stopped working and I removed them all to start fresh since I read that there can sometimes be conflicts with multiple lightbox plugins. So now I am only using the FancyBox plugin and still cant get the lightbox effect for photos. I also noticed the dropdown menu for the Facebook albums no longer works so maybe this is related? I have tried to disable mod_security and my php.ini settings for “disabled_functions” but still no luck and nothing seems to show in the apache error_log to give me a clue. I di have various caching plugins installed, and others, but these all worked fine with the lightbox effect before?

    Can anyone suggest where else I can start looking for the problem in getting Lightbox effects to work?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I just found the problem…..I switched themes and now it works! I never thought to try that since it worked fine before, with the wcute theme. Bummer….at least it works and now its on to search for a new theme. Thanks kindly for the quick response. ??
