No index.php Permalinks possible without mod-rewrite?
-
I’ve just moved my blog with many posts from one hoster to another and the Permalinks now all have ‘index.php’ at the beginning. Updating Peramlinks options don’t help. In addition to being slightly less pretty, this also means that all the incoming links to my blog are now wrong.
It turns out unlike the last hoster, the new hoster (Register.com) has disabled mod-rewrite and won’t re-enable it.
Is there any other way of rescuing my original permalink sans ‘index.php’ without mod-rewrite? Or should I move hosts again?
