No import tool

I am hoping to transition my personal site from a wordpress.com site to one that is hosted by my university but still through wordpress.

I have no trouble exporting my site content, however when I go to import it, following the tools link, I just get

“No importers are available”

Is there anyway that I can circumnavigate this?
