Since the 3.6 update, all my Nextgen Galleries are broken (the site is https://www.petersommer.com/blog/).

Initially, galleries would still show, but fail to load when clicked on.

On noting this initially, I first tried updating the Nggallery plugin to the recently released new version. After I did that, the galleries did not even show up any more. Instead, each blog post containing a gallery showed the line “no images were found” where the gallery used to be.

I have now downgraded the plugin to the previous version, but still see the “no images were found” line instead of the galleries.

For a blog that uses imagery as a key focus, this is a disaster. Is there any suggestion as to how I can rectify this?

  • Only restore the site from a backup before upgrading plugins – at the moment.

I have done that. Strangely, the NextgenGallery plugin is now at the new version again. I’d like to downgrade that, too, but of course the tutorial (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/) won’t load at all. I guess I’m not the only one with problems. Can anyone tell me how to downgrade?

same problem – still no fix

No reply, no reaction, no solution?

I know things are probably busy for everyone, but I am a bit disappointed at the lack of any reaction here. As things stand, my blog is broken, as the galleries are a central aspect of it, and I have no indication that anyone is doing anything about it, or even noticing…

Hey guys! Had the same problem.

There is a new shortcode that needs to be used -_-

    Check it out here.

    Thank you, jenily!

    That did it. Splendid, really.

Is there anywhere or anyhow that I could have found out by myself?

@jenily: thanks very much for posting a solution. That’s a huge help to us and other users.

I’m wondering if anyone who had this issue can tell us exactly which old shortcodes were generating it. Old shortcodes should all work fine, but we know of one we missed (with album id=0, which shows an album with ALL galleries). For that one, it was generating no images found because we didn’t introduce an equivalent.

I suspect if you were seeing the same error, there’s are some other specific shortcodes we’re missing.

    Thanks.

So photocrati, there is no alternative to album id = 0? How can we display all albums on one page?

@photocrati: The shortcode I was using was:

    [album id=all template=extend]

That got the message “no images were found”.

My solution was to downgrade to 1.9.3. Now it’s working again.

None of the solutions, new shortcodes etc worked for me. Trying different things resulted in either “no images were found” or

    array(1) { ["display_type"]=> array(2) { [0]=> string(30) "display_type should be present" [1]=> string(20) "Invalid display type" } }

    Downgrading was the only option.

What is the new shortcode equivalent to this: [nggallery id=14]
    _._ means nothing to me..

    Thanks

We refer to shortcodes using the template parameter as “legacy shortcodes” and in this case it appears we may have missed re-implementing this particular configuration in the current version of NextGEN Gallery.

We are addressing these “missing” items from the legacy version of NextGEN and hope to have them soon in a future release.

    Thanks!

Great.. ‘no images were found’ also. Now what?
I have a page filled with albums. Every single album that gets clicked results in ‘no images were found’

    …… ._. ……

Where can I get a copy of 1.9.3?
