• Hello everyone,

    This is my first post.

I’ve searched the forum to see if I would be able to find an answer to my issue, no luck…

When I’ve moved to https, the portfolio image covers are not visible on my homepage: https://www.roundsquarestudio.com

According to my hosting provider, the hotlink protection is off. It was suggested by some people that this could be the cause.

The images should display like on this page: https://www.roundsquarestudio.co.uk

I’m really a newbie with WordPress.

    Can someone help me please?

    Kind regards,
    Damian

When I like at the page source, it looks like a lot of stuff got stripped. When you changed your site from http to https, how did you do it?

    Hello Steve,

Thank you for replying to my question.

I’ve used a plugin called called “really simple ssl” in order to activate the certificate.

I’ve read that some of the poeple are having issues with this plugin, so I’ve deactivated it, but the problem still persisted.

I’ve tried another approach and Ive deleted a website from my server, and then I’ve installed it again by using “Installatron” and making a copy of my old website (roundsquaredesign.co.uk).

I’ve activated SSL from the server side and problem still didnt go away. It was suggested to me that I should somehow manually fix broken links, but I don’t know how and where to do it.

Do you have any suggestions how I could safely make a copy of my old website and activate SSL for the new one? I’m sure you’ve noticed but other images on the website are working just fine, just the cover images are not being displayed.

It’s also worth noting that when I’m adding a new content to the website, the newly uplodaed cover image still isnt displayed.

Kind regards and thank you again ??

did you try to manually modify your database?

    I didn’t.

Is there any way you can guide me where this can be done?

I know that I need to do this on the server, I would just need to know which file I need to look for and what I need to change there.

I would really appreciate you help

When I look at your page’s source searching on <img is see that no source file has been specified. Something you did really blew things up.

Let’s try a hopeful solution. Deactivate *all* plugins and change your theme to twentynineteen. Do the images come back? If so, turn things on one at a time until you find what breaks it.

If not, then do you have a backup from before things broke? If so, try restoring that database.

    Thank you Steve,

I will try to do as you’re writing.
