    Extra note – if I check “WP Library mode” it works. But as soon as I go back to instagram mode, with “Save and Display Images from Media Library” it doesnt work.

    The reason it works from WP Library mode is because the images are shown from your media libaray. Check if the instagram user is public because the plugin stil works here!

    OK thanks. How do I check if the account is public? I logged into instagram but couldnt find a setting?

    open an incognito window in chrome or private browser and type in the username profile url. Mine is private here

    The client had made their account private. Got them to change it back and the plugin worked again.
