• I have 2 different websites with the free version of Generate Press both set to the latest posts for home. One picks up the first image on the post and displays it alongside the excerpt, the other doesn’t.

How do I get the images to show on the other website?

  • Hi there,

Are you referring to the featured images here?

Can you link me to the pages in question?

No, not featured images. https://www.crustheclutter.com is the site in question. My other site looks similar to “Marketer” in your site library.

That link isn’t loading for me unfortunately.

GP uses the default wordpress excerpt function which strips all HTML including static images.

Perhaps you are using the more tag in another site?

Sorry what am I looking at here?

Everything looks normal to me. I see some images in the posts on the second page as those are featured images.

I want it to look like this site: https://www.gardenchecks.com/ it site has no featured images on any of the posts, with some pages not having any images and therefore don’t show.

I removed many of the featured images on CrushTheClutter (the ones the show on the first page) hoping it would pick up the first image as it does at Gardenchecks.

Are the featured images on some of the older posts preventing the first image from showing up on the ones that do not have one?

Are you using any custom functions or plugins to display the first image in the post in the blog page?

As mentioned above, this isn’t a default option in the_excerpt() option from WordPress which GP uses.

You would see the exact same thing/issue when using a Twenty series WP theme.

Perhaps you are using the custom excerpt metabox there?

I would recommend going through the Gardenchecks site to determine if there are any custom functions or plugins that are doing this for you.

Oh! I do have a plugin to show them. That plugin hasn’t been updated in 11 years, lol, can’t believe it still works.

Sorry, I missed seeing that, could have saved us both a bunch of time!

    No problem ??
