Since upgrading to WP 3.9, I have lost the image edit & delete icons in my post/page editor. When I select the image, I get the resize handles which work fine, but I have to go use the text tab & modify the html to change other properties (alignment, borders, etc.).

I think I have the default editor: there is no editor listed in my plugins.

I use Weaver II theme. My site is ptartist.com

  • Just to make sure, if you temporarily switch to a default theme, does the problem go away?

It might also be helpful if you noted your browser and browser version in case the issue is browser related. I tested a WordPress 3.9 install just now and I could see the image edit and delete icons without problems after I clicked an image in the visual editor. I tested with Chrome 34.0.1847.116 on Mac OS X 10.9.2 (Mavericks).

OK, you got me: I should have tried that!

No problem when I activated the 2011 theme. So it does seems to be a Weaver II issue.

    Thank you!
