I have no idea how to fill in the setting tab as requested.

Where do you get the codes from – in the screenshots it has things like required: _ga

How do I know the codes and if they are required?

I have mailerlite, acuity scheduling, Google analytics, jetpack, fb pixel (pixel cat lite)

How do I create the optout bits as well?

Additionally, when i click add tab it doesnt do anything?

You need to manually enter the codes yourself, you can get the codes from your web browser. Different browsers have a different menu so you will need to research how to find the list of cookies stored on your computer (google it).

I use chrome which opens settings in a new tab on the cookies page, I closed all other tabs, cleared cookies and then opened my website. I then browsed on my website using all other functions like a user would. I then Refresh the cookies page/tab and then you will see all of the cookies that your website is using and from which provide, you website will be listed (generally all 1st Party Cookies are here) then other websites will be listed like google for google analytics (3rd Party cookies).

You then need to categorise all of then an research how any 3rd Party providers allow users to opt out and save the link for each. It is very time consuming and every time you add functionality to your website like plugins you will need to double check the cookies remain the same. WordPress core are also working with plugin providers to try to get a more joined up way for plugins and the core to do this automatically but we seam to be a long way off that. The GDPR plugin is the only way to gain consent properly at the moment as far as I can see.

There are other cookie audit tools out there and some companies will do a report for you.

Add tab works by typing in the text first then clicking add tab.

    Hi @belinda1234,

Like @harpersmith already explained, you need to do some research. You need to figure out what cookies your site is using. You can do it manually like explained or you can hire a company to do that for you.

If you’d like, send an email to [email protected] and someone from our team will get in touch with you and send you an estimate to help you get ready for GDPR.
