• Hello
I am totally new to WP and how to use it.
I am trying to install WP to my host using MySQL database because my host does not have cpanel.
Here is what I have been doing:
    1. Download and extract WP
    2. Connecting my FTP with filezilla, uploading all WP files to wwwroot directory on my host (this instruction was given by my host, I just place all WP files under the wwwroot folder in no particular place)
    3. I delete index.html under file manager

NOTHING happens! if you go to my website https://www.brighteraviation.com you sometimes see godaddy’s page and sometimes just a blank White page. I really have no idea what I have done wrong, any ideas anyone?

As a sidenote my host asked me to set up a host table on my local computer for some reason, not sure why but I did that. Perhaps that screwed things up?

Right now I have no clue what I am doing wrong, trying to get more help from my host but I thought u guys would be able to explain things more clear to me.
I can send any screenshot if that would help!

    Thank you so much!

I have reviewed installing wordpress for 3 Days with no luck!

I am simply out of ideas what could be wrong
    – All WP files are under the folder they should be (wwwroot)
    – I have configured wp-config.sample PHP file with my database information and uploaded it again into the wwwroot folder
    – I have deleted index.html from my file manager on my hosting account

Any other ideas of what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated.
I have contacted my host asking for advice but they do not seem to understand what the issue is.

    Thank you very much

    Have you run wp-admin/install.php yet?

I have tried enter it but I just get the 404 page not found error.

I think you need to check where you uploaded WordPress to. I cannot find any signs of it on that domain.

I understand there might be an issue of where I am uploading wordpress to but I am following my host’s tutorial (https://kb.pachosting.hk/upload-website-files-using-filezilla/) and it says all WP files should be dragged into wwwroot. On my FTP I can see all WP under wwwroot.
When I asked my host about this issue they told me to create a local host table on my computer to temporarily see my website according to this tutorial (https://kb.pachosting.hk/setup-host-table-in-your-local-computer/) but that did not help either.

I am completely Clueless what could be wrong.

Thank you very much for any help!

I checked your web root folder and I cannot find any sign of WordPress. And your hosts’ suggestion will not work correctly with a WordPress site.

hmm that is tricky, do you have any idea what I should do to make this work?

What you have there looks like a page from Go Daddy’s Instant Web Site Builder, or whatever they call it.

Is this the location where you have uploaded the WP files with FTP?

If you purchased a hosting plan from GD (which you must in order to install WP – and it should be a Linux account to make things a WHOLE lot easier (don’t worry, you do not need to know Linux)), then it does in fact have a “control panel” ( please note that cPanel is a brand name) and it is from that hosting control panel where you create your database for your WP install.

Alternatively, your GD hosting control panel also has a “one-click” WP install; I would suggest you use that one ??
