• I have no idea how to do this whole installation thing. I can’t even understand the terms. But I would really like to download wordpress as I am starting a blog. Is mysql a separate download? How about PHP? And how do you rename the wp-config-sample.php file. There doesnt seem to be an option for that when I right click on it. I know, I should have just opted for the free installation team. Unfortunately, that service is not available. Anyone who can help me out? Thanks!

The PHP and the mysql, are those things that I need to download as well? I’m sorry, I’m really feeling kinda lost. Thanks

No, those are things that should be installed on your host server by the host company. If you don’t have a domain and host yet – then you should find a host that has all that stuff.
And never talk back before reading all the suggested documentation.

I was not talking back. I was only asking for help as I was trying to understand the materials I was given. Unfortunately, I am not as technical a person as you are. I understand you must be receiving a lot of queries and I believe I have been courteous enough in presenting them. I hope you will be kind enough to do the same. If you feel you have no patience answering queries, then that is ok. There are others here who can help us newbies out. Thank you.

how do you rename the wp-config-sample.php file

Not trying to be rude but if you seriously don’t even know how to change the name of a file, you should probably do a lot more research than simply studying the information in the link moshu gave you. Which BTW, explains everything you need to know about how to get WP installed and how to use it.

    How to rename a file:

Right click on it, click rename, rename it.
