No hreflang field

    AMP plugin Version: 1.5.5
    Yoast SEO Version 14.8

    with SEMrush we optimize our SEO and the error tells us that the hreflang attribute reference is conflicting.

    Yoast automatically adds these hreflang attributes…

    SEMrush seems to crawl the amp URL’s (/?amp)

    So what it comes down to is that https://www.example.com (English) needs a self-pointing URL [<link rel=”alternate” href=”https://www.example.com/&#8221; hreflang=”en”>]

    When calling https://www.example.com/?amp the URL is not self pointing but takes the original URL (https://www.example.com/) as the hreflang value.

    Do I have to go into WP_head to add a condition? or is there a workaround for this without touching any code?

  • We’d be happy to test this out from our side. In order to do so can you share your Site Health information so we can check the language plugin used along with mentione plugin versions and your current setup?
