    Hi!

    On
    https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/add-spam-protection/
    you state:
    ————————————
    Honeypot#

Honeypot is a type of invisible spam protection. Normal users won’t be affected by this spam protection. Suspicious submissions will be marked as spam and Formidable will prevent the entry from being submitted.

This feature is enabled by default on all forms and does not require additional configuration.
    Empty field above form#

If the Formidable styling is missing from the page, you may see the empty form field at the top of each form. If you see this extra field with the label ‘If you are human leave this field blank’, follow these steps:
    —————————-

Well, there is no hidden field ??
Just look at the source code of the URL I gave.

What can I do to enable this? I get spammed like hell :-((

    Hi Alex,

On your site I’m seeing the Honeypot field below your form – and it is visible (it shouldn’t be).

Looking at the developer console I’m seeing lots of 403 and 404 error messages. It looks like something on your site is preventing some files from being accessed – most often this would be caused by a security plugin.

It would be helpful to test to see if anything on your site is interfering with Formidable and causing the issue.

Could you please go through the following steps?
    https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/what-plugins-are-known-to-cause-conflicts/#kb-how-to-find-a-conflict

If the issue doesn’t show up under these circumstances, you can add each item back in, one at a time, and test after adding each one until you find the culprit.
    ———-
Once those issues are fixed, the next issue to address is spam protection.

Do you currently have reCaptcha installed? https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/recaptcha/

If you do, and spam is still getting through, there are additional layers of spam protection you can add—Akismet works well for us. If there is a common phrase, link or word in the spam that is getting through, you could use the comment blacklist option. I have also heard good things about the anti-spam plugin by Cleantalk.

These tools are all documented here: https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/add-spam-protection/

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any further questions on this.

Well, that is interesting. *I* do not get any 404/403s …

    I tried with 4 different browsers … I even went to gtmetrix.com and webpagetest.org. But absolutely no 404/403 …

Also: I do not see a Honeypot field, either. Tested with Firefox/Edge/Safari/Opera.

Would you be so kind and provide a screenshot? I am at a total loss since I see absolutely no problems …

Or could you post the html code for the honeypot field so I could search in the source code?

I will go through the suggested steps later this night, when there is no traffic on the page since switching all plugins off and changing theme will really disrupt the page.

Thanks a lot for getting back to me.

    Best regards,
    Alex

Both are not EU GDPR compliant …

Do you know if Anti-Spam Bee works with Formidable Forms? ASB is GDPR compliant.

    Cheers,
    Alex

Never mind … found the honeypot field.

    Thanks,

Anyway, the spammers seem to get around this. I installed formidable forms 2 days ago, the website is brand new, and I already got three spam mails, the first one only about an hour after setting up the form.

I will observe this further …
