• Thanks a lot for this plugin! This is exactly what I was looking for! I managed to install the plugin and show exif data. But I can’t make it to show the Google map thumbnail?! I do see the “Position: ….” line but no map even though I enabled the “show map …” checkbox. What am I doing wrong??

    Regards

    Tom

@tom7320 Did you have the plugin installed when you uploaded the image? The geo data only gets imported when the plugin is active.

Yes I did! I also _do_ see the position as text (“Position: 55° 22′ 56.89″ N 14° 3′ 16.86″ E”). But unfortunately I _do not_ see the map. Theme is twenty seventeen if it matters….

THX a lot for your answer!

    Hey Tom,

Is the post/page live where this is happening? If so, can you switch it to the map and send me the link to take a look?

If not, do you know how to check the source code to see if the image URL is there and check for console errors?

Well it’s our family blog. Nothing top secret but I don’t want to make it public either…

But I put a screenshot of the console output and the html source here:

It seems to be a problem with the Google API key?!? I thought it was not necessary to have one? Confused….

Sorry to push this toppic again but unfortunately I was not able to find a solution myself so far…. ??

Hey Tom, it’s does look like the Google API key is the issue. I’m not sure why it’s a problem, perhaps the requirements are different in different countries. It is free to sign up for an API key though, so I suggest you do that.

    OK. THX a lot!
