I have nearly 100 CF7 forms that have worked beautifully with the PDF form filler plugin–up until today. Forms that worked previously, with PDFs that do, indeed, have form fields in them, suddenly give me the error “no file with such file id” both for PDFs that used to be attached to the form/plugin, and for uploading any new PDFs.

Don’t tell me the PDFs don’t have form elements, I’ve been doing this for over a year now, I know for sure that they have form elements, as they always have.

Something changed with the plugin, and it’s not working anymore.

Update: This is one of the PDFs I’ve been working with. It worked fine yesterday, and not today. No changes have been made to the form at all:

I have tried uploading a completely different PDF to the form, duplicating the CF7 form, and even re-creating the CF7 form from scratch to try to remedy this.

100% same issue all day, i googled the error code about 3 hours ago and i was the only one on the internet lol until now your post, so its not just you, they must have something going on with it…

i’ve tried a different domain, different dedicated server and all, even a older version of wordpress, all resulted in the same issue https://prntscr.com/p8tt35

Also your PDF file link doesn’t work

I’ve got the same problem since today.

I am getting “Error Generating PDF: pdf.Ninja API Server did not send an expected response at pdf-ninja.php: 752” As a txt attachment to all emails send from 1pm today.

Pdfs are blank with no data filled. Anyone else having this issue ?

Yes Skearnet414 same issue trying to generate it, i think it must be Ninja having the issue as the form filler that errors when adding a new pdf file is also erroring with the OP error message but im getting both.

@skearney414 our sites are giving the same error message. The pdf is blank but sends a .txt file with all the filled in inputs with the errors message:

Error generating PDF: no file with such file id at pdf-ninja.php:749

Okay I am getting same file ID error now for new pdfs. Must be an issue with the API .At least i’m not the only one!

Yep, came here looking for help on this same issue, and I just was updating one field out of 76 on a previously working form and the deadline was today! And people wonder why web devs run late, not always us!

Same ‘no file with such file id’ error when attempting to attach the new pdf.

I have a client reporting the same issue so I came here. Hopefully we hear back soon on how to fix this.

Just wanted to come back and share that I just tried again and it’s back to working on my end!

It’s working on my end too.

Yep, looks like the API is back. I’m inclined to believe the issue was with PDF.Ninja rather than this plugin. Marking as resolved for at least my thread.

I am really sorry guys. There was an issue on the server, happened at the worst possible time. It is fixed now. I will be improving my setup to prevent this kind of issue happening again.
