No File verification checksum for core download?

I want to install wordpress and bbpress so downloaded wordpress-5.8.2.zip ( and bbpress.2.6.8.zip ).

I can’t locate a sha checksum for either one.

Seems odd. I’m used to verification checksums being available for downloaded software, and I always check before installing.
Perhaps that is considered no longer important?

If such are still being provided, would appreciate being pointed to location ??
