• Hello,

I’ve just installed WordPress 3.0 and I have having issues with adding and editing new pages. I have been using it fine for the weekend, porting my dev project over to live. I am using wordpress 3.0 to power my website, e.g. I create pages in the wordpress system and then use this data for my site.

I have lots of pages in the system (205) and after about 200 when I added new pages the fields would not appear. I click on add page and no fields appear in the central column. I fixed it initially by click on preview draft, then the fields would appear. However, this now doesn’t work.

I haven’t come across this potential bug before. Now I can’t edit pages, or add new ones. Is this a wordpress 3.0 bug? I’ve found no such issue with 2.7, 2.8 or 2.9… I’ve tried in Firefox and Safari, both having the same issue.

    Has anyone seen this?

    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – increasing the available memory?

    Hello,

Yes I have tried these fixes. I have had mixed results. I tried deactivating all plugins, but this didn’t work. I switched to the default theme and had some success here… however 2 hours later the blank page issue appeared again. I had tried the memory bump, with no success… and I have also tried increasing the memory manually through the wp-config file

    e.g. adding this line

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);

I have read about many people having the same issue. Is there anything else I can do?

I haven’t had this issue with 2.8 or 2.9… Is this something new with wordpress 3.0? Do you think it will be fixed for wordpress 3.01 or 3.1?

Thanks for your help, but the issue is still there ??

Try deactivating all plugins and switching to the 2010 theme. You could be experiencing problems from both sides.

    hi,

my problem is even worst. when going to edit a page or a post, i see only HTML, and not visual. so i cannot edit at all.
i did anything you wrote’ and nothing worked.
is there any option to go back to the word-press version before 3.0?

    thanks,

    ifat

    Hello,

I have tried the fixes you suggested and I am still having mixed results. I have deactivated all plugins and it works for up to about 2 hours, but after that period of time it goes back to the blank screen issue.

My client is asking me to explain why this is happening. Can you give me some details on why this is occuring? I have used 2.7, 2/8 and 2.9 for a few years and I have never seen this happen before. I assume there are memory issues with wordpress itself. The hosting environment is no way near capacity… Is there anything I can do sever side to fix this?

Do we know if other people are experiencing this issue, and how have they fixed it?
