When I submit a form where the supplied email address is clearly invalid (such as just “testinvalid” with no “@domainname”), no error message is returned to the user. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong?

Can you provide a link to the page/form in question?

We are definitely checking validity with the form, but I’m wondering if there’s some sort of javascript error occurring that’s preventing success in this specific case.

When I try to submit with “testinvalid” as the only parts of the email field, it’s giving me a “Please enter an email address” popup from the browser.

    Couple questions.

Is it doing the same for you when the “No Refresh” option isn’t checked?
Are the test submissions actually going all the way through to your chosen list?

It is definitely seeming to bypass validity checks for me when the No Refresh is in place, and the “Please enter an email address” popup doesn’t show in that case. However, I’m not having anything come all the way through.

I unchecked the “No page refresh” option for the form and I am now seeing a popover with a helpful message when trying to submit the form with an invalid or missing email address. Perhaps having the “No page refresh” option checked is part of the problem.

My test submissions have been going all the way through to the chosen list, as long as the email addresses have been valid. Invalid email addresses weren’t going through – I just wasn’t getting any feedback, positive or negative, in the browser for them.

    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for helping confirm and definitely sounds like some things we need to touch up ourselves as well. Will be filing enhancement issues, internally, regarding this.
