    Hi,

After activating W3 Total Cache, I can’t see those lines that belong to the plugin!!
    # BEGIN W3TC Page Cache core

Should I insert them myself or what?
I can see that page_enhanced contains my pages, but since these htaccess entries are missing so I do not benefit from them.

    Regards,

    I figured out why.

WordPress is unable to write to the .htaccess file, but why!! Although it’s 644 permission and the owner is the website owner

How to make .htaccess write by WordPress?

    Hello @macnux

I am sorry about the issue you are having and I am happy to assist you with this.
Are you receiving an error message in the dashboard that W3 Total Cache is unable to write to .htaccess? 644 permissions are just fine for W3TC to be able to write to .htaccess.
Please check the location of your .htaccess file
In Performance>Install there are Rewrite Rules (based on active settings) and there should be a path to your .htaccess file e.g. /public_html/yourwebsite/.htaccess
You can also manually add those rules to your .htaccess file.
    Thank you!
