No emails sent with wp eshop after purchase

Hi. I was testing eshop with a downloadable product and paypal as payment processor. The payment was ok, but I don’t receive any email from eshop plugin with the link of download.
Now, I put the plugin in live way, I made a purchase, but I don’t receive the email. Neither the customer nor the admin receives any email. The Transaction ID says “processing” but the money was deducted from to paypal account of the customer.
I have configured the automatic email templates and made sure that they are active.
I dont know why the emails are not sent out. Can anyone please help? I like the plugin and would really like to use it further.
I have already read similar threads on this topic but none of them was helpful to me.
Do I have to set up Paypal Instant Paymant Notification in order to get the orders processed in a correct and automatic way? Why are there no emails sent to the admin even when the order status is pending?
I really appreciate any help on this matter. Thank you!
