Some time ago I disabled woocommerce on-hold emails.
Now I need them again. However, when I activate them, they still don’t send.
I went through the code and I can see that they are set to be send, but they still aren’t. I can provide any information needed in case you are willing to try to help me.

I activated Woocommerce order status manager to set a custom email to be send when order is on-hold, but i feel like I dont want to have another plugin running for something which is already a part of woocommerce.

Whether or not the email get send depends on the initial state as well. The triggers are:

woocommerce_order_status_pending_to_on-hold_notification
woocommerce_order_status_failed_to_on-hold_notification

I’m sorry I forgot to mention that the email doesnt get send when I change the order status from pending to on hold. This is when it should send but it doesnt.

Can you please install the WP Mail Logging plugin and then trigger the emails by changing the order status? If the server is sending it out, it’ll show up in the mail log. If the server isn’t sending it out, then we know it’s not being triggered.

If you’ve confirmed that the email isn’t being triggered, you’ll want to do a theme/plugin conflict test to rule that out.

The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to temporarily switch your theme to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce.

If that resolves the issue, then one-by-one you can switch back your theme and re-enable your plugins, testing in between, until you find the one causing the conflict.

Can you please let us know how that goes?
