In oct 2013 I subscribed to follow a wordpress.com blog. This was confirmed by email and shows on my reader. I do not appear to have ever had any notifications by email, though there have been several posts.
I have checked my account details and the address is correct.
This may be a wider problem, as I have received no emails of any kind from WordPress since November 21 2014. The last one told me I had updated my blog to WordPress 4.0.1, though I now have 4.4.1, and the usual “please moderate” requests have stopped.

    Hi Andy,

Please correct me if I am wrong, but this sounds like it’s an issue with your WordPress.com account. Due to the differences between the free hosted blogs offered at WordPress.com and the self-hosted and self-installed version of WordPress supported here, you should probably ask WordPress.com Support instead.

You are probably correct. I have a wordpress.com login and the reader on it shows the blog I want to follow. I did try to use the wordpess.com contact page but it did not like me either giving my non-wordpress.com blog address, or none at all, and suggested I ask here. There is a box to tick “I don’t have a blog”, which would be untrue, but I might try it anyway, as it probably means “I don’t have a wordpress.com blog”.
