I am trying out this plugin but I do not see any editor on the Forum page so I can’t write anything. The topic is available, but I can’t do anything with it.
I have Tiny MCE installed as a plugin which I used for my normal pages/posts.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi:

Are you logged in as an admin or as a regular user that you added?

Do you see the REPLY link in the topic? The editor will only show up if you click that link. It will be a text box, not a full editor.

Can you post a screen shot of what you’re seeing? Maybe it will give us a clue.

Are there any JS errors in the browser console?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the fast reply and information! I am not able to add a topic as an admin or as regular user ie. member. As a little background info, I created a User Group Member where I see all the people who were already on my site. I gave them full access under permissions. I don’t want to let people register themselves–I will add them manually as users to WordPress and want them to have access to the Forum.
Sorry can’t add a screen shot here. But I cut and pasted what is on the screen.

    Thanks in advance for any enlightenment! C;

    Hi:

We really need some screen shots. You can upload them to a file sharing service and provide a link here. Can you post screen shots of:

    – The forum front-end – what you’re seeing when a user is logged in.
    – The user profile screen under the WordPress USERS menu for that user
    – The user profile screen under the FORUMS->USER->MEMBER information
    – The details for the permission set assigned to the user under FORUM->PERMISSIONS->MANAGER PERMISSION SETS->EDIT PERMISSION
    – The forum permissions under FORUM->MANAGE GROUPS AND FORUMS – click the KEY icon to display the permission sets used for the forum.

Its a lot I know. But I suspect there is a permissions configuration issue with the new user you added and this should help us help you diagnose the issue.

Also, please check to see if you have any JS errors in your browser console. If there are diagnosing the reason for those would take precedence.

    Thanks.

    Dear Nigel01,
I really appreciate your kind response. I am testing another option that I think may work better for my website. I do the website as a volunteer and think the simpler solution should be okay.It doesn’t have as many features as Simple press, but is a bit easier to handle for less experienced people. Before taking up any more of your time, I am going to see if the other idea works first. Thank you again and all the best.

    Hi:

Sounds good. Good luck. I’ll close out this thread for now then. If you need anything else just reopen it or start a new one.

    Thanks again.
