    On 4/2 we had updated the plugin a couple weeks ago. We left the “Add Global Site Tracking Code ‘gtag.js'” checked and it caused our data to fire twice due to two tracking codes.
    On 4/16 removed this. I added a separate GTM code to track events, but this interfered with the site’s checkout.
    On 4/18, we removed the new GTM code. All was working fine, the checkout was working again and conversions were tracking in Google Analytics.
    Today, 4/20, we have realized that those conversions have actually disappeared from GA, and GA is not tracking conversions since 4/17.

    We don’t really know what to make of this. It looks like the code is installed properly and there should be nothing interfering with the data. Any assistance here would be appreciated.

    Thank you for contacting us!

    The issue is only with the extra GA script which is added by some other analytics plugin. while using our plugin you don’t need to use other analytics plugins.

    Additionally, if you have gone through the description & FAQs, you could find the reason that, with the latest relase we are started using new GA tracking method “Gtag.js” & removed the support for the legacy GA tracking method.

    Solution:

    Use only one analytics plugin at a time, remove all the additional GA script from your store & enable the option “Add Global Site Tracking Code gtag.js

    Additionally, you are using the custom theme for your store so & the free version of our plugin is not fully compatible with the child/custom theme.

    This does not seem optimal. We have not had this issue until we updated the plug-in. The checkbox you are referring to even says that selecting the global site tracking is optional. What you are saying makes this checkbox seem necessary to ensure accurate eCommerce tracking.

    Is there a way to accurately track eCommerce data with your plugin while still using a separate GA code just for web analytics?

    Hi @pnmg,

    As we have mentioned, from the latest update we have adopted a new tracking method “gtag.js” & we keep it optional only because some users have already added “gtag.js” manually or via some 3rd Party plugin like GADWP, in that case, to avoid firing double pageviews, we keep that optional.

    We have already provided this detail in the documentation of our plugin so kindly go through it carefully.

    And our plugin will also provide the basic tracking like Pageviews so no need to use other analytics plugins for basic tracking.
