    Hi there –

I have created a brand new wordpress site and only installed the Secure Downloads plugin.

I haven’t added any new files yet, just using the original .txt and .html file that came with the download.

I can get get the email, with the link ( that looks encrypted) – but when i click on the link, the site looks like it starts to do something then just goes to the home page and no prompt for a download.

The file location is default – name of the folder where the downloads are is correct – secret key is installed.

Any ideas what it could be?

    Many thanks
    Chris

    Hello.

The path automatically configured by plugin. You just need to specify some folder at the Settings page for option ” Upload Folder” like this “mysecret3453676folder”
and also specify the ” Secret Key” like this “sgfd43645fhgdfhgdnoyu96u45987″
For the option ” URL Path” you can define some path, which plugin will generate for your links, its can be like this “/mydownload/”. Its dynamically generated path, its does not create some folder at your server. Only Upload folder, must be created at your server.

The url defining in the emails that auto generated at the plugin menu page.

In case if you will have an issue, please recheck your error.log in your server configuration, about any relative errors. If you can not find error.log file, please contact support of your hosting company about helping in finding this file.

Also probably, its because of conflict with some other plugin or actual theme.
Please try to deactivate one by one all your active plugins at the WordPress > Plugins menu and make testing after each plugin deactivation.
If its not help, please deactivate all your plugins and active the default WordPress theme. And then retest it again.

We just need to find the reason of this issue.

    Kind Regards.
