No Donate button option in free version

  • I need just one generic PayPal ‘Donate’ button for a non-profit that I do pro-bono work for. The $10 fee for the Pro version isn’t much, but for that time and cost I can log into the paypal site and get the exact code I need directly. I would hope that in the Pro version that donate button is available by selection and not something you have to search out the url for. I would have expected the “official Paypal ” plugin to offer the standard Paypal buttons. ALso disappointed there’s no widget – just a link to a shortcode widget. Again, it isn’t saving me much more time than pasting in the Paypal code to a advanced text widget. I don’t usually complain about missing features on free plugins but since this claims to be ” Official Paypal” you’d think there’d be enough kickback to the developer enough to include these features – they can make up for it on the shopping cart plugins – not to mention we’re not using Square.

    Hi webmystery,

    PayPal offer a number of different buttons for different purposes. Buy Now, Shopping Cart, Donation, Gift Certificate, Installation Payments, etc.

    This specific plugin is only for creating a Buy Now button. That was done on purpose to not create a super complicated plugin. There are a number of other very good plugins that developers have created specifically for donations, that are free.

    I appreciate your review, however I do ask that you consider changing your rating. I feel that is it unfair as that is not the purpose of this plugin. Including a donation feature would be out of the scope of this plugin.
