I upgraded from 3.9.6.1 to 3.9.7.6 and all my documents are missing completely. This is the shortcode that was working previously:

    [fileaway type=”table” directories=on paginate=”true” pagesize=”20″ sortfirst=”filename-desc”]

I had to revert to get it working again. Unfortunately it’s behind a private login so I can’t link to it here. Any ideas?

Are there any double-dots .. in your Base setting?

What type of server are you on?

    No. Just a path:

    /public_html/site/documents
    /public_html/site/documents/management
    /public_html/site/documents/newsletters

The WP files are actually in a subdirectory even though it doesn’t show up in the URL.

Root directory is set to WP install directory and the base url is domain.com (NOT domain.com/sub).

Well that’s a conundrum. Add debug=on to your shortcode and tell me what the output says.

Ok, so you’re one of those setups. I didnt make any explicit changes that would intentionally affect the sub directory install situation. So troubleshooting is going to be trial and error.

    Here’s the message:

Your File Away shortcode is pointing to the following directory:

    /usr/home/username/public_html/mywebsite/site/documents

Remember that if you want to display files recursively, you need to enable recursive mode with recursive=”on” or directory tree navigation with directories=”on”.

Maybe you used one of these?

    fa-firstlast fa-username fa-userid fa-userrole

If you used one of the four dynamic path codes, then the path above is going to be different for every logged-in user.

    Sincerely,
    MGMT

I’ve tried every combination of settings for the Root Dir and Base URL and it will not show. My shortcode should be correct as it works with 3.9.6.1.

I’ll have to set up a test site with the install in a subdirectory and get back to you, unless you’re willing and able to provide access to yours. I’ll get to work on setting up mine regardless.

Questing: are your Home Url and Site Url different or the same in WP General Settings?

I’ve got mine up and running and will run some tests.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide access. There is personal information listed for hundreds of people. I reverted to 3.9.6.1 for now. Thanks.

Okay, I set up a site where the WordPress files are in a subdirectory called wp. I then set the WordPress Address (Url) to mydomain.com/wp and the Site Address (Url) to mydomain.com. I then created an identical directory structure to yours:

    public_html/site/documents
    public html/site/documents/management
    public_html/site/documents/newsletters

I put some files in there, and copied your shortcode exactly.

On File Away settings, I set Set Root Directory to Site Root Directory

The files show up for me as expected.

So… there’s a step we’re missing here. What’s the difference between your setup and mine?

    (@htmanning)

    Wordpress Address URL – https://www.domain.com/site
    Site Address URL – https://www.domain.com

Mine is setup the same way except I have a longer path:

    /usr/home/username/public_html/mywebsite/site/documents
