• What’s up with the post and page editor not creating div, <p> or line breaks? The lines still return (without any code apparently), but there are other issues as a result. Anyway, the text view has no HTML tags.

The problem is that images and other items need a strict div or <p> to avoid overwrapping each other.

divs and line breaks worked a few weeks ago. Is this an intentional change? Because it’s a step backwards if it is.

Just to be sure, I disabled all plugins and went to 2016 theme, etc. etc.

Other shortcuts work fine. I tested this on multiple browsers and WP installs. This is an issue with the core but I don’t know if it started with 4.6 or earlier and I don’t know if it is intended.

There are reasons that divs and <p> are in HTML. We can’t ask people to manually add that kind of coding on their own every time they want a hard line break; if they have those skills then they probably wouldn’t be using WordPress.

Can anyone verify whether or not 4.6 removes div and paragraph tags from the editor?
