No Directory Index Page

We’re trying to install CM Business Directory. We can activate it, add businesses and view them from the link in the CMS etc. However, there is no Index page.
When I click ‘Back to the Business Directory index’ from a business page we get a 404. If I click the link in settings (the extension of which is showing as /?page_id=) I’m directed to the Home page and when I click edit next to the index link in settings I get a message saying that the page doesn’t exist:
You attempted to edit an item that doesn’t exist. Perhaps it was deleted?
We’ve not deleted anything btw. I’m using the latest version of CM Business Directory and have tried reinstalling twice. We’re updated to the latest version of WordPress.
Permalinks are enabled and set to Post Name. I did change this to the default setting to see if we could get any joy but didn’t get anywhere so I’ve changed it back to Post Name. I’ve looked through all the website pages and there hasn’t been anything new created (don’t know if there’s meant to be??).
As far I know we followed the installation video to the letter. I think we’re wanting to use the Pro version with the Communities add-on but I need to get the free version up and running first.
